Decklan Gentle of Central Gouyave Estate, St John, who was arrested and charged on Tuesday, 24 August 2021 for 30 sexual offences against a minor, appeared at the Victoria Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 26 August 2021.
Gentle was granted bail in the amount of $30,000 with 2 sureties with the following conditions:
- Surrender all travel documents
- No contact with any witness to the matter
- Ought not to be in the same vicinity of virtual complainants
- Re-locate to Cherry Hill, Carriacou
- Report to Carriacou Police Station 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)
- Not to leave the state of Grenada without permission from the Court
He is scheduled to reappear at Gouyave Magistrate’s Court on 28 September 2021.

“Sack this judge/magistrate”! Shame on this judge! These should be the cries of every concerned citizen for not only the children of Cherry Hill but for all of the children of Grenada. What has this sentence done? It has given credence to all these paedophiles lurking in every corner in Grenada that they will be protected. What this sentence has done; It has informed paedophiles that they will be protected by the law to continue undisturbed with no threats of being punished.. What this sentence has done is to encourage Decklan Gentle, this paedophile to a woman who is desperate to get a meal on the table for her hungry children she would have seen the law in supporting his actions should and could in no way not support her in introducing him to her family. Effectively, the law is leaving her unprotected and open to abuse because the law will turn a blind eye to the sexual predators’ actions.
Who are these magistrates (magistrate) that have given full access to the paedophile, Decklan Gentle to his sexual playground in Cherry Hill, Carriacou? Why Carriacou? Are the people of Carriacou less important than those of Grenada? What is the local MP of Carriacou doing to ensure that the people of Carriacou need more respect or will her hunger to be reelected more important than protecting her vulnerable constituents.
A paedophile who already has 30 offences against minors. The problem is surely with the legal system which give men the right to sexually abuse women and children. Over 90% of serial crimes are committed by men, so it stands to reason that it would have been a male judge who would have made the decision to transfer and protect a serial sexual offender to an area where he is given the freedom to continue his criminal acts against the children of Cherry Hill.. While vulnerable young men fill up Grenada’s prison for no more than smoking marijuana, (not promoting this) this causes minimal risks to non- smokers.
Paedophiles should be jailed. If not then they should be medically treated either by drugs or surgery to remove the offending organ to protect our children.
