Counterfeit EC$100 and EC $50 notes are currently in circulation.

The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) advises the public that the $100 notes bear serial number VM189980, while the $50 notes bear serial number SJ956006.

Anderson Mark, a 56 year old, bus driver of Tempe, St George, was arrested and charged on 2 May, for the offence of possession of counterfeit coin after he was found in possession of EC$100 currency bearing serial number VM189988. This illegal currency is from a past counterfeit warning, which implies that VM189988 notes may still be in circulation.

Persons are asked to exercise utmost vigilance and caution when doing business. Anyone coming in contact with these fake monies are asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 440 3921 or Police Emergency at 911.
