The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 38 year old man, following his detention on Friday 4 April.
The ground floor of a house in Florida, St John, was partially burned on Friday night. Peter Alister Joseph had to be physically removed from the burning premises and was taken into custody at the Gouyave Police Station, for questioning in relation to suspected arson.
On arrival at the police station, officers became concerned about his health and immediately ambulanced him to the Gouyave Medical Station. Joseph died while being attended to. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday 8 April.
The RGPF assures the general public that a thorough investigation will be conducted.
