It’s a busy start to the New Year as the Grenada Football Association is in full gear, in preparation for the CONCACAF U17 Women’s Championship Grenada 2016.
The lead up to the 3–13 March 2016 tournament, has begun with a visit from CONCACAF officials who are currently in Grenada.
The officials are CONCACAF Director of Competitions Horace Reid and Project Manager Ricardo Sarille.
As part of the visit, they toured the 5 practice fields for the tournament, and will as conduct a review of Grenada’s readiness to host.
The fields are: Tanteen, Beausejour, Queen’s Park Ground 2, La Sagesse and Morne Rouge. Work is ongoing at Tanteen and Queen’s Park Ground 2 to upgrade the fields for the tournament.
In a public release, the Ministry of sports announced that Morne Rouge, Queen’s Park Ground II and Roy St John Playing Field, will be closed on Wednesday, 30 December 2015, until further notice to facilitate the upgrade.
The CONCACAF officials are scheduled to leave on Thursday, 7 January 2016.
