The Seismic Research Centre (SRC), University of the West Indies, continues to monitor the Kick ’em Jenny underwater volcano. The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) continues to collaborate with the SRC, and will provide updates to the general public.
Since 6:00 pm on Saturday 25 July, to present, no activity was recorded at the site, which confirms that the recent eruption has ended.
The Government of Grenada advises that the alert level for the Kick ’em Jenny underwater volcano remains at YELLOW, which means that vessels should strictly observe a 1.5 km exclusion zone. However, as a precautionary measure, vessels should continue to observe the 5 km exclusion zone.
Please be reminded that the official advisories on this matter, and all other disaster related matters will come directly from the National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA).
NaDMA will continue to monitor the situation.
