President of the St Mark’s Development Committee, Dr Julie Dubois, says the 2015 St Mark’s Day Fiesta has probably seen the largest turnout since its inception in 1987.
The festivities, which ran from 25 April to 3 May, hosted a wide array of events including a hike to Mt St Catherine, a Gospel Fest, a Bonfire Night, and a Health Fair.
The Reservoir Jam, which is quickly positioning itself as the signature event of the celebration, had hundreds of supporters from around the island dance their way up and down the St Mark’s water facility, all in the name of merriment.
Parliamentary Representative, Hon. Clarice Modeste Curwen, who spearheaded the Health Fair and played a critical part in the other activities, said the festival plays a significant role in promoting the parish of St Mark and its community spirit.
The St Mark’s Development Committee extends its gratitude to the groups and individuals who contributed to the success of the celebration and looks forward to continued support from the people of St Mark and well-wishers from other parishes.
