Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell has extended sympathy to the family of Dominic Paul, on behalf of the Government and people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
According to a GIS statement, “Paul lived an exemplary life in service to our nation; propelling Grenada to the heights of modernisation in healthcare services through his vision to establish SIIC, the Spice Isle Imaging Center — the first of its kind here in Grenada. Through his initiative, many of our ordinary citizens are able to access appropriate diagnoses right here; whereas in the past, travel to a different country would have been necessary. Moreover, not only are the services of the Imaging Center accessible; they are also affordable.”
Mitchell joined the nation in mourning the ‘untimely’ loss of this inspirational gentleman, and encouraged everyone to celebrate his life and his tremendous contribution to the development of healthcare. Mitchell recalled numerous occasions on which he called on Paul to assist the poor and vulnerable with the provision of basic health services, a call which Paul answered each time.
The Minister, Permanent Secretary and staff of the Ministry of Health and Social Security, also extended condolences to the Paul family, saying, “we are deeply saddened by his sudden and tragic passing. He was a true Grenadian patriot committed to the health and wellness, and the overall development of our country and people.”
“We are sure, that his kindness and love for people will always remain engraved in our memory as his pioneering of the SIIC, a ‘Grenadian medical center of excellence’, that has touched so many lives. May he rest in peace.”
