The Youth Centre at Morne Roughe is the venue for today’s half day meeting that will focus on how young people can benefit from the Creativity for Employment and Business Opportunity (CEBO) programme.
The Caricom Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Religious Affairs, has organized a partnership for the programme which is receiving support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Spain. The programme seeks to give technical support to Member States to strengthen youth entrepreneurship by introducing the CEBO Programme.
The CEBO training is a regional project developed by the Caricom Secretariat, to engage, motivate and inspire entrepreneurial interest and action among youth fifteen (15) to twenty-nine (29) years old. It emphasizes creativity and teamwork and is delivered through hands-on, interactive youth-friendly methodologies.
Its is anticipated that through the programme, young persons interested in starting their own business will benefit from a series of entrepreneurial workshops and seminars through the CEBO Programme.
Participants at the meeting will include:
- Non-government organisations with an interest in youth entrepreneurship including National Youth Business Trusts
- Small and medium enterprise development organisations
- Small business associations
- Chambers of Commerce
- Banks and other financial institutions
