Grenada’s young sailors from Gouyave & Grenada Yacht Club will be in action again this Saturday (2 November) in the second Clarke’s Court Bay Marina Junior Sailing Regatta, and the organisers are inviting everyone to come and give their support, and enjoy a day of sailing action on the water and fun on land.
The event is being organised and hosted by Clarke’s Court Bay Marina, helped by a group of volunteers from Grenada Sailing Association, Grenada Sailing Festival, GYC & Gouyave Sailing School, as well as Cruisers based here in Grenada. The team is looking forward to welcoming the group of keen young racers who will be competing in Mosquito & Laser dinghies.
Following the success of the 2012 event, the organising team at Clarke’s Court Bay Marina were keen to make this an annual date, and with help and valuable sponsorship support from Budget Marine, Horizon Yacht Charters, Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina, Palm Tree Marine, Republic Bank, Island Water World and Independence Agencies, the event is set to become a key part of the Junior Sailing Calendar .
As well as great racing action there will be other activities and entertainment on land, based at the Marina’s Oasis Bar, including a Raffle, ‘Treasures of the Bilge’ Sale & recycling drive. There will also be a Masters’ Race, when adult sailors will be invited to show off their tactical skills, but in the smallest Mosquito dinghies! So do come to Clarke’s Court Bay Marina, support our sailors of the future and help make the day a great success.
